Pennie Clayton dog trainer, canine behaviourist, and Canine Bowen therapist is the founder of Hound School. Member of PDTE and EGCBT, fully qualified (OCN acredited) and insured. Pennie specialises in kind, effective and positive training methods and promotes learning by using games and activities for dogs. This approach helps not only to challenge and engage dog's minds but helps dogs retain what is being taught to them. Activities trigger dogs imagination and help give owners extra tools with which to train their dogs. As well as 1-1 training Pennie also offers home visits not only to help with problem behaviour but also conducts puppy visits and can give essential information unique to each puppy and owner. Social walks and outdoor classes are also a regular feature of Hound School activities as are specialised workshops which look at specific training situations eg problems with recall, or pulling on lead. These are run on a 2 week basis and are a mixture of theory and practical work. Pennie is also a Canine Bowen therapist. Canine Bowen Technique is a gentle hands on therapy which can realign and rebalance. It can assist with pain relief, after injuries and operations and can promote more rapid healing. Bowen can also help with mobility problems in older dogs as it is equally beneficial and safe for older dogs as it is for younger dogs. Bowen can also benefit dogs who are very active and participate in competitive events by boosting energy, preventing injury and enhancing general wellbeing. Regular talks are also run on canine related subjects at various times of the year.
